History of JEREMM
The history of JEREMM begins in Jérémie in 2026, when Wenderson Beauchamps decided to develop a technological solution to help people search for medication more easily.
An event that brought a problem into view
In July 2026, a citizen of Jérémie lost his life. After his death, some people close to him said publicly that during that situation they had been looking for a medication he needed, but they had difficulty finding it.
According to those statements, the medication was available at a pharmacy, but they were unable to obtain service at the time they needed it.
Those statements brought to light a problem that can matter a great deal to the community: when someone needs a medication, they may have to go from pharmacy to pharmacy without knowing which one has it available or which one can serve them at that moment.
JEREMM does not establish a link between the difficulty of obtaining the medication and the citizen's death. It is the statements of people close to him, and the problem they raised, that contributed to the thinking that led to the project.
August 2026 — the idea of JEREMM takes shape
In August 2026, Wenderson Beauchamps, a Haitian professional with experience in communication, management, operations, and technology, decided to develop a technological solution to help reduce the time people spend searching for medication.
The idea was to create a tool that can help people search for medication and identify participating pharmacies that report having those medications available.
That is how JEREMM began to take shape.
A project made in Jérémie
JEREMM starts in Jérémie, with an initial focus on Jérémie and Grand'Anse.
The name JEREMM carries the project's identity through Jérémie, Medikaman, and Jere moun.

September 2026 — the community joins the project
In September 2026, JEREMM entered a new stage with the first in-person activities and volunteers, while development of the technology platform continued.
Volunteers began discovering the project, testing how the system works, and sharing observations that can help JEREMM adapt to the community's reality.
A history still being written
JEREMM is still in development. The vision is to keep building a tool that is simple, accessible, and useful for improving how people find information about medication and participating pharmacies.
